USA Network is rolling out the welcome wagon for the Pritchett-Dunphys (and their fans).
In anticipation of the ABC comedy joining the network in syndication starting Sept. 24, the cable network hopes to attract the show’s fans with a multi-platform package that includes a fan appreciation day on Oct. 28, a digital hub, synced content and more.
“In welcoming this new family to USA, we felt it was important to create a vibrant and socially active community where super fans can share how ‘Modern Family’ has affected their lives,” said USA’s marketing and digital executive vice president, Alexandra Shapiro. “This series has an unbelievably passionate following, and our goal is to turn the spotlight on the fans themselves and engage them on a whole new level.”
USA will air the first four seasons of “Modern Family five nights a week in two-hour blocks on Tuesdays starting at 8/7c, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 9/8c, Fridays at 8/7c and Sundays at 9/8c.

The network has certainly viewed its “Modern Family” syndication deal as a launching off point for its upcoming original comedies. In 2014, USA will launch its own half-hour comedy series: “Sirens” from Denis Leary (“Rescue Me”) and Bob Fisher (“Wedding Crashers”) and “Playing House” from Jessica St. Clair and Lennon Parham (“Best Friends Forever”).
Here’s what USA has cooked up for “Modern Family” fans:
MOFYNation.com: The digital hub goes live this week at MOFYNation.com — MOFY being USA’s acronym for the comedy’s fans, which stands for “Make Our Family Yours” – where they can upload testimonials inspired by the series.
Synced live additional content: While viewing episodes live, fans can get related video, commercial integration and other bonus content such as interviews, polls and trivia. It will be available at modernfamilysync.com within the USA Anywhere App, as well as inside a number of Social TV apps including, NextGuide, Shazam, Viggle and zeebox.
Fan Appreciation Day: On Monday, Oct. 28 in Los Angeles, the cast will do a table read of an episode chosen by majority vote by the fans followed by a Q&A with the stars and producers. The red carpet and select interviews can be viewed at MOFYNation.com.
Themed Nights: Designated nights such as “TGIMF” (Thank goodness it’s ‘Modern Family’) Fridays, in which the network encourages the whole family to watch together. And on Sunday, there’s “Modern Family Live” that allows fans to play along via their connected device. Top ranked players will be featured on-air at the end of the broadcast.
Pop up photo studios: In November, the cable network will set up photo booths for fans in major markets, including Philadelphia, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Atlanta and St. Louis. Fan can create show-related photos, animated gifs, etc. that can be shared on social networks.
